TEAM HTDF: Meet Louise - with a will of steel and a heart of gold

In May, we turn one year old, or more precisely, the 1st of May, HTDF turned 8 years old, and therefore the whole month of May is equal to festivities and celebrations.

We have already had a sale, and soon more is on the way.

I want to tell you a little about the people behind HTDF. For the most part, it is me, Nanna, who is in focus. I'm the lady who started it all, and you know me well by now, but I'm not alone in getting the wheels running on the small business. I have some wonderful people around me, and they are a big part of the whole universe and its evolution.

HTDF is where it is today because of the hard work of these people. I'm pretty crazy about my little team, if I have to say so myself, and I'm lucky that it's me who enjoys it every day. These are some lovely people that I love to work with and just to be with, which is essential for me. The people I have hired are some I have carefully selected for many more reasons than their professional competencies.

HTDF is my child of the heart, and I only let people I have very high thoughts of and trust inside my business and become a part of the team because, as I said, it is my child.

They must also contain the values on which HTDF is based - but in their way, because we must not be too similar either. We 4 ladies complement each other's professionalism and work well, but also in terms of personality, we are all a good match. It is important to me that it is nice for everyone to come to work, that you can be who you are and feel what you feel. Sometimes we talk more than we work if there is something more important on our minds that needs to be addressed first. There must be room for everything in my office.

I have tried to interview the 3 beautiful ladies who work here so that you can meet those who help to get the wheels turning.

The first talk I had was with Louise. Louise was the first to join the team. I have known Louise longer than she has been with me, because she was employed by a good colleague before, MariaDenmark. So when Maria's company moved on from Denmark, I was so lucky that Louise wanted to work for me. It was the summer of 2018 that she officially started with me. I've had many good hours with Louise in the office back when it was just her and me. She is a sweet and gentle young woman with her legs firmly planted on the ground—the perfect match for me, who is a little "airy".

Here are the questions I asked Louise:

What's the best thing about working at HTDF: "it must be the colleagues. I've been on maternity leave for the last year and have only just started again with my own evening teams in sewing. I have missed my colleagues, so that's probably what I think is the best right now. "

Since we are a company that works with sewing, it's quite obvious we have to talk and joke about what her favourite things are in sewing:

What are your favourite colours to sew in: "I'm just crazy about all colours. But for myself, I mostly wear " autumn colours" which are warmer tones or a little darker colours. My favourite colour is probably burgundy."

How about your favourite sewing technique: "Ohh I love to overlock. I think it's a wildly simple way to get a nice finish inside the clothes."

When you sew for yourself, what do you prefer to sew: "It must be tops. I am quite tall and have a long upper body. This often makes it very difficult for me to find blouses, so to sew a blouse that just fits and sits beautifully, I will be happy about."

What is your favourite pattern among HTDF's patterns: Without a doubt, the Vanløse set. I have sewn so many of those sets. Of course, also the blouse and trousers individually. If I do not know what to do and need either a pair of trousers or a set for a special occasion, then that is the pattern I will sew without a doubt."

How would you describe your style: "Wow, I think it's hard. In fact, right now, I'm in a place where I do not really know what it is. After I became a mother 10 months ago, something happened to me. Compared to the clothes I wore before I became a mother. I can still fit it, but mentally it does not really fit me anymore; I'm like somewhere else - so I'll probably have to rethink my style. So the short answer is: I do not know. "

In the end, I asked the other two how they would describe Louise in a single word. As I said, we are a team that talks a lot. So one word is not easy for those ladies. So their descriptions are:

Sign describes Louise as carefree

Sofie describes Louise as harmonious and balanced

These are two words that I can easily agree on, but I would also like to say a few words about Louise. Louise is the calmest person I know, and for such a flighty and energetic person like me, she is a gift to have in the team simply because she can calm me down with her "girl from the countryside" mentality. Louise is attentive, detail-oriented, helpful and humble. She's a gift for such an enterprising boss like me. In addition, Louise is also insanely good at tackling everything! The things she can accomplish with a percussion drill - it's no small things! And then she is talented in working in the digital programs, drawing and construction of sewing patterns, which is a big part of our company. Again, Louise is an excellent gift for me to have on the team. I was never in doubt when Maria moved her business out of Denmark; I just had to have Louise on my team! I have never regretted it; even though Louise is quiet by nature, don't be fooled. She has a will of steel and a heart of gold.
