Grisettes story: The magic village Antheuil

As you may know by now, No. 24 Antheuil was designed in collaboration with French designer Grisette. It's magic Grisette who named the pattern after a city that had a special place in her heart. The result was Antheuil, which we in the beginning found were hard to spell and pronounce. But now when we know the pattern, we couldn't imagine the name being anything else.

And now when I think more about it it's really funny because Denmark is the only place where we know the names Dragør, Vanløse, Rønne, Århus og Aalborg.

It's funny with the names of the patterns. It's always intresting if you can feel the story behind the design. There's always a story, and I would love to tell you my stories, but for now I will give the word to Grisette and she will tell you the story about the french village Antheuil and its magic. I hope you also enjoy her beautiful, magical photos.

Antheuil is a small Burgundian village, hidden between two mountains covered with forest. Going up the river that flows there, you will arrive at the Bel Affreux spring, which comes out of the Cave of the Sorcerers and whose crystal clear water is drunk by the people of the village.

On certain full moon nights, you will sometimes hear songs from another time resound there or come across strange creatures such as the Werecat or the Wyvern.

In Antheuil the legends are queens, and it is here that I put my suitcases when arriving from Brittany. The oldest witch in the village opened her door to me and welcomed me into her home in a large stone house clinging to the hill.

Lulled by the sound of water and the wind whistling in the forest, I took advantage of this break outside the Men world to weave a new part of my story and fill my luggage with legends and tales.

From the meeting between How to do Fashion and Griisette was born Antheuil, a retro skirt pattern, in a long or short version, with or without pocket, all in elegance and adapted to all needs!

If you want to see more pictures from the village and hear Grisette read it out loud in french you can visit her blog HERE.
