The making of No. 22 Tangier

I'm not going to lie when I say our newest sewing pattern has been years in the making.

It feels like it has taken years to send our newest member of our sewing pattern family out in the real world to live her life. So I want to thank you for the lovely welcome you have given this pattern. I know you've waited for a long time. Your nice comments make it worth it all now; this pattern has cost blood, sweat and tears - THANKS!

Throughout the years, you've asked for a new coat pattern. The only other coat pattern I have is No. 4 London. Then there is No. 15 Barcelona which actually is a cape, and maybe you could say No. 10 Stockholm, but really, is that more of a blazer?
But as you can see, it's not the extensive collection of coats I have in my portfolio, and the ones I have are very old.

In October 2020, we were on the official photoshoot for the photos on No. 22 Tangier, including the image on the front page of the envelope. The ideas and the development of the pattern we had done way earlier.

The original plan for No. 22 Tangier was to release at the beginning of 2021; in the hope of a lot of beautiful coats for the spring.

The work was in full swing when the second Covid-lockdown happened in Denmark. We were only missing a few details, but we never got to make them as we had to send home our employees. I was so frustrated because I had told several of you in real life and on Instagram, "Just wait, we have the perfect coat pattern coming soon".
When we were finally back at the office, it was already spring and a little too late for a coat pattern.

That's why No. 23 Marakesh came out before No. 22 Tangier. No. 23 Marrakesh had been planned for the spring of 2021 all the time; it was the perfect pattern for parties and weddings during the warmer months. And all the material was done for both patterns, so we couldn't just switch their names so the numbers would be in the correct order. Plus, it would be so weird for us at the office. Because for us, Tangier had always been a coat, not a dress.

I've been so excited to send her out in the real world finally and for you to see her. Since October last year, we have collected so much photo material, and we're so excited to share it all with you finally. It has actually been a problem. If we took a photo in the office, we had to take it back and not post it because we wanted the pattern to surprise you.

If you follow us on Instagram, you can see everything we share and get inspired.

Underneath you can see photos that were deleted from Instagram because we wanted to keep No. 22 Tangier a secret.

I'm curious! Did any of you notice that No. 23 came out before No. 22?

And last but not least, thank you again for the warm welcome of No. 22 Tangier.
