From Paris to Casablanca
A wonderful wrap-dress with pockets, sleeves and a beautiful well-fitted waistline is the newest member of the How To Do Fashion sewing pattern family. Please, welcome no. 21 Casablanca!
Casablanca is a dress I’ve had in my wardrobe for many years. Back in 2017, I visited Paris for the Dior 70-years exhibition. It was a fantastic exhibition, but there was especially one thing I couldn’t stop thinking about when I came home fra the city of love; a beautiful coat-dress. I was utterly head-over-heels in love with it and couldn’t forget the dress. When I got home, I had to try and make one for myself.
The first one I created was in a wool-fabric, with a lapel. It has become a loved coat-dress, and I’ve used it throughout many winter seasons. This summer, I made it in a summer-version. The fabric was a light cotton/polyester blend. I made a short styling video on Instagram, you can see it here!
You absolutely loved it! – to say the least. The response from you was overwhelming. You wanted to create it yourself.
There was no doubt; this had to be the next pattern. Now it’s here, and I must say I’m thrilled that you convinced me to make it into a sewing pattern. It has become a lovely pattern, and I look forward to seeing your creation, and your take on it. I’d love to see how Casablanca becomes a part of your story.
It’s also the very first pattern to be available in the extended size range from EU 32 to 54.
I hope you will give a warm welcome to the new girl in class, no. 21 Casablanca! She is wonderful.
