how to quilt

It is not difficult to quilt, but it is extra work; however, it is so worth it in the end!

When you quilt you always need

  • Batting

  • Quilting glue I prefer to use spray adhesive and use this one

  • Measuring tape or a walking foot for your sewing machine

  • Mark with notches two quilting lines that overlap each other.

  • Fold and press the fabric according to the notches, so you get at diagonal cross

  • Baste with spray adhesive to one side of the batting

  • Place the pressed pieces onto the glued side of the batting – let the grain line follow the edge of the batting.

  • Turn the work and spray the other side. Place a piece of Main fabric to the glue - let the grainline follow the edge of the batting.

  • Cut the edges

  • Start by sewing the two first quilting lines – the one you have pressed.

  • Use a walking foot for your sewing machine, if you have one - or use a measuring tape to sew the rest of the quilting lines.
