No. 11 Malmø - Version 1

A pencilskirt with waistband and darts on front and back. It has a vent and is closed with an invisible zipper.

Fabric choice:

Light to medium weight woven fabric. Cotton, Silk, Wool, Viscose, Cupro, Linen or Polyester. Works well in fabrics with comfort stretch. Not suitable for jersey.

Fitting:

We recommend that you always make a muslin before cutting the fashion fabric to make sure your finished style will fit you perfectly.

Cutting Fabric

On each pattern piece you will find a capital letter. On the cutting layout plan, you will find the same capital letters so that you can easily see which pattern pieces to use for the view you have chosen.

Sewing

NB! The Pattern Has 1 Cm Seam Allowances Included, Unless Otherwise Noted.

1.      Cut all pieces according to the cutting layout plan.

2.      Press interfacing to the waistband (D)

 Sew The Skirt

3.  Sew the back darts. Press them towards centre-back.

4. Fold the darts on the front, right sides together. Sew them accordingly to the marks on the pattern. Press towards CF.

5.   Finish the seam allowances of the side seams and the centre-back seam. See guide

6.  Finish the seam allowances of one of the long sides of the waistband.

7.    Sew the side seams, right sides together. Press the seam allowances open.

8.   Finish the hem.

9.   Place the waistband at the waist of the skirt, right sides together, and sew it in place. Press the seam allowance into the waistband.

10.   Sew the zipper in place.  The zipper should end at the notch on the waistband. See guide.

11.   Fold the waistband around the zipper, so that the fabric is right sides together and sew the end of the waistband to the zipper. See guide

12.   Turn the waistband to the right side so that the zipper is placed in between the layers of the folded waistband.

13.   Finish the waistband by stitching in the ditch from the right side of the skirt.

14.  Sew the centre-back seam from zipper to vent, and the centre-back vent part. Press the seam allowances open and fold the vent according to the markings.

16. Sew the went to the back piece with a topstitch.

17.   Sew the hook-and-eye in place above the zipper.
